Move over Quinn, there's a new darling in the music town: Jaeger the travelling bard and man of many talents. Applause? Routine. Sighs of appreciation? Commonplace. Requests of, "Could you be ever so kind as to play for us tonight, sir?" Too numerous to accept.
In a world starved of Jaeger's particular mix of singer-songwriter talents, the troubadour commands attention from governor and noble, rich and poor alike. It has allowed him to summon crowds at every crossroads, and given endless favors to dispense.
Books on Jaeger have even begun to sell well. The Royal Library itself holds several collections of anecdotes told by Jaeger at social occasions, for instance:
The complaint of a knight to his wife: "I'm unable to sleep."
His wife: "Why, you fool of a man?"
The knight sighs: "My armor wakes me whenever I move."
The wife pauses: "Take it off, you idiot."
The knight sighs: "And face you in the morning without it?!"
Not-as-yet famous author Seth has also collected several short books of Jaeger's sayings, "My Time with Jaeger".
"Women are to be loved but never understood."—To Alice:
"I have made a waste of time and time has made a waste of me."—After a harvest.
"To be or not to be, that is the question."—Musings before battle.
The Wander is one of the most secretive organizations in the kingdom, said to be made up of a web of covert operatives who share information gained from all corners of the land.
It is also suspected that this web is centrally managed by a traveler with ears and eyes in high places codenamed "Y". The brains behind the outfit, Y's insider intel can ruffle feathers wherever, whenever he wants for his own purposes.
Y has taken great steps to conceal his true identity but what may be clearly determined is that any governor who ignores Y's influence puts their future in peril.
