Castle Battle

Description

Castle Battle is one of the most important recurring events in Kingshot, testing both offensive coordination and defensive endurance.

The first Castle Battle in a new kingdom takes place within the first 54 days. After that, the event occurs biweekly on Saturday. There are two main formats:

  • Standard Castle Battle (within a single server)
  • Kingdom of Power Castle Battle, which is tied to the Kingdom of Power event

Objective

The goal of Castle Battle is straightforward: attack the Castle and hold control for as long as possible.

An alliance can win in one of two ways:

  • Maintain continuous control of the Castle for 3 hours, or
  • Have the highest total occupation time by the end of the 6-hour event

Rewards

Winning Castle Battle comes with major benefits. The victorious alliance earns the right to appoint the Kingdom’s King, granting access to powerful kingdom wide buffs and valuable rewards for all alliance members.

Even if your alliance does not capture the Castle, participation is still highly worthwhile. Castle Battle provides a consistent source of Charm materials and other valuable resources that support long-term progression and upgrades.

Tips & Guides

How to Earn Points in Castle Battle

Your total score in Castle Battle is determined by three key point categories, each rewarding different actions during the event.

Carnage Points (KO Points)

Carnage Points are earned by defeating enemy troops while fighting for control of the King’s Castle and its defensive turrets.
The more enemy units you eliminate, the higher your Carnage score will be.

Occupation Points

Occupation Points are based on the power of the troops stationed inside the King’s Castle or its turrets.
Maintaining control of these structures with strong, well-supported forces increases your Occupation Points over time.

Casualty Points

Casualty Points reflect the number of troops that are severely injured or lost during battle.
While some losses are unavoidable, smart troop management and timely rotations can help reduce unnecessary casualties.

Rally Leader (Generation 1–3 Players)

In Castle Battle, the Rally Leader plays a critical role. Their primary responsibility is to lead strong, well-built rallies that either break enemy defenses or secure and hold the Castle once captured.

Attack Rally

Attack rallies should focus on maximum damage output to weaken or break through enemy Castle defenses.

For Generation 3 players, the top heroes for attack rallies are:

🔹 AMADEUS · PETRA · MARLIN

Defense / Garrison

Once the Castle is captured, defense becomes the priority. A Garrison Rally focuses on survivability, sustain, and control to maintain occupation for as long as possible.

For Generation 3 players, the top heroes for garrison and defensive rallies are:

🛡️ ERIC · JAEGER · HILDE

Troop Formation

Using the right troop formation can make a big difference in Castle Battle.

  • Standard Attack Formation
A safe and effective default setup is:
    50% Infantry · 20% Cavalry · 30% Archers
  • Against Infantry-Heavy Castles
If the enemy garrison is mostly infantry, adjust your formation to deal more damage, for example:
    20% Infantry · 20% Cavalry · 60% Archers
  • Garrison Formation
When holding the Castle, durability matters most. An infantry-heavy setup is usually best, such as:
    50% Infantry · 50% Cavalry · 0% Archers

These formations can be adjusted depending on your alliance’s troop levels and the enemy setup, but they work well as a general rule

Rally Joiners – Attack

For attack rallies, rally joiners should prioritize heroes that increase damage and overall rally effectiveness.

First-Slot Hero Requirement

When joining an attack rally, players should place one of the following heroes in their FIRST SLOT:

🔹 CHENKO · YEO WOO · AMANE · AMADEUS

These heroes provide strong offensive boosts and perform well across multiple generations.

This functions the same way as Beartrap rallies, where correct first-slot hero selection is critical for maximizing damage.

Important Reminder

Rally leaders should always remind members to double-check their first-slot hero before joining a rally.
Using the wrong hero can significantly reduce total rally damage and weaken the overall attack.

Rally Joiners – Defense (Garrison)

For defensive and garrison rallies, the priority shifts from raw damage to survivability, sustain, and defensive buffs.

Recommended Garrison Joiner Heroes

The best heroes to use when joining a garrison rally are:

🛡️ HOWARD · GORDON · SAUL · HILDE

These heroes provide strong defensive bonuses and help the garrison withstand repeated enemy attacks.

Tip: Coordination Over Perfection

Using a variety of correct joiner heroes produces the best results. However, if coordination is difficult and members struggle to send different heroes, consistency is more important than perfection.

A properly filled garrison using the correct hero types will always outperform a mixed or incorrect setup.

Infirmary & Healing Preparation

Castle Battle puts heavy pressure on your Infirmary, especially during long fights and repeated refills. If your alliance plans to compete seriously, upgrading the Infirmary in advance is strongly recommended.

Preparing Healing Resources

To avoid running out of healing materials:

  • Start saving healing speedups several days before Castle Battle.
  • Heal troops in small batches instead of large ones. Ask for alliance help to reduce speedup waste.

Additional Tip

a. Fight in an alliance with a lot of ultra value monthly card players for quick batch healing
b. Rally leaders should regularly monitor garrison numbers and remind members to refill their forces to maintain a strong defense.
c. The castle fight always overlaps with either All Out Event (within the server) or Kingdom of Power event (KvK) battle phase. It’s a good opportunity to go for solo run even if you can’t win, especially during KvK fighting enemy kingdom players, because both castle point and KvK battle phase get points from killing enemies and losing troops. It just takes a lot of resources and tedious clicking (if you are clicking manually) to heal up, but the reward of hero gear chest and governor charm definitely worth it.

“Advanced” tip: When the castle fight just begins, solo attack with march speed up if you are strong enough to get some extra occupation time. When your rally isn’t strong enough to occupy the castle, you might need a double rally or even more to hit the target at the same time. To do this you need your rally leaders to start a rally to your target and take note of the march time. Then communicate with each other (count down with voice is the easiest) to make sure all march arrive at the exact same time. So the enemy defending has no chance to refill with troops.

Pro” tip: What if you are expected to lose control of the castle from an incoming rally in KvK? Do a counter rally. To do so you need to have rally leaders and enough rally joiners in at least 2 alliances. To make it simple, let’s say your kingdom has alliance A, the main force to defend castle and get occupation time for the king, and alliance B, the force to counter enemy rally. And let’s name the enemy Kingdom alliances X and Y. So when you have A defending castle and see X start a rally, B should start a rally (or double rally if needed) after X. You might need to take note of X’s march time and delay a bit so B doesn’t arrive earlier than X (that will be a disastrous same kingdom fight and X takes over a free win).

Here’s what’s gonna happen:

If X fails to kick A out of the castle, cancel the rally from B immediately. A keeps the castle and gets some more occupation time before the next rally attempt from X.

If X kicks A out of castle, rally (or double rallies) from B arrive after and kick X out of castle. Then B holds the castle for a bit waiting for the rally leader of A and joiner of A all solo attack. When the rally leader of A is about to reach the castle, B kicks out all of its troops in the castle fast and gives back castle A, so A can continue to get more occupation time. This is a very tricky operation and requires very good communication, since experienced players from the enemy kingdom might seize the chance to solo attack and grab the castle as well.

This is the basic idea of “counter rally” in castle fight, the goal is to shorten the enemy occupation time and not wait for a full 5 minute rally to take back the castle by starting a rally from a different alliance right after getting rallied since you can’t rally your own castle. It’s not complicated but requires good timing and constant communication to make it work.
